Artist's statement
Painting with light is my key to the secret garden which I explore over and over.
Photography started it. It frees my imagination and fills me with a sense of accomplishment and integrity. Through the lens I try to preserve my inner vision and freeze my emotions translated to the outher reality. I photograph from inside out.
I rely on natural or minimal lighting to produce a candid style of photography. I try to lead the viewer through my visual creations, on journey of discovery and connection between the past and the present. We simply cannot escape from the past. The simple reminders are all around us.
My photography is a visual poetry with a soft breath of nostalgia.

Vita / Lebenslauf:
"In my work I have drawn inspiration from the beauty expressed in simple things in unexpected ways. I create from my own life experiences."
Anita Kovacevic is an internationally published and exhibited fine art photographer with Slavic origins, working primarly in monochrome and occasionally in warm tones.
Born in 1975 in Slovenia and after many years of wandering in many countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Poland, Canada and USA), she is currently living in Salzburger Land, Austria in the cca. 650 years old guesthouse with her partner and their son.
"I'm an internationally published self-taught artist. My art reflects me; my thoughts, my emotions, my life experience; and is essentially centered and inspired by my fascination with everything that is old and historical. I try to stimulate the viewers imagination by touching them through dramatic and poetic creations. I believe that all creative work is essentially autobiographical; everything that we are, feel, our heritage, curiosity, imagination, longing, our thoughts and emotions merge into our artwork."
Anita creates fine art photographs, but she also has interest in street and photojournalistic photography. Her images are to be found in private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, UK, etc., and she has been published both in print and online in various countries such as USA, India, UK, New York/Athens, Berlin, Germany, etc.
